Brazilian Jam Sessions

The Brazilian Jam Session, is coordinated by Simon Papa and took place in various clubs since January 2009. Its aim is to become an opportunity to play together freely but also a way to get more in contact with the MPB, the Brazilian popular music. During these jam sessions were born new collaborations among musicians that couldn't have the opportunity to meet each other if not for these occasions.
The MPB is a popular music with unique characteristics since it blends very rich harmonies and melodies with a poetic content that is not easy to find in other popular music around the world.

Unfortunately what is known in Italy is only a small part, and also very specific, of the huge Brazilian musical production. During the jam, because of the variety of musicians involved, you can wander among the various musical styles existing in Brazil and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere in which even people who do not feel directly involved would participate in some way, sometimes playing small percussion from the tables where they sit.

Brazilian musicians like Gilson Silveira, Roberto Taufic and Marco Ruviaro have performed as special guests in the Jam Sessions.
